Integrative Restoration
Integrative Restoration or iRest for short is a guided meditation practice designed to elicit deep relaxation. iRest is a non-invasive, research and evidence-based, ten-step protocol that effectively alleviates post-traumatic stress, insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression through the regulation of the body’s nervous system. This in turn contributes to improvements in health, resiliency, and well-being.
The origins of iRest are deeply tied to the service and support of the U.S. Military. In 2006, the Department of Defense conducted research at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on the efficacy of iRest. They found that 20 minutes of iRest is equivalent to two hours of REM sleep.
