About Us

The mission, the people, and the vision behind Warrior Wellness.

warrior Wellness Program

The Warrior Wellness Program provides free, evidence-based therapies to active-duty service members, veterans, and their significant others. Whether you’re still serving or have already transitioned to civilian life, we know the road can be difficult. We’re here to offer timely, effective support to those ready to face their challenges and build a full, productive life, during service and after.

We help people build a life that is Healthy, Connected, and Resilient. An empowered life starts with sound physical, mental, and emotional health. Avoiding isolation and building meaningful relationships is extremely important. And the ability to care for oneself and weather difficult times is vital to long-term success. Founded by veterans, we operate the Team House in Holiday, Florida, where warriors find community, support, and a pathway to healing.

Vision

A military community that is healthy, connected, and resilient, during service and after.

Mission

The Warrior Wellness Program provides an opportunity to heal for those affected by the traumas of war. Through effective alternative therapies and community engagement, our goal is to promote a healthy, connected and resilient veteran and military population.

Values

Integrity, compassion, excellence, community, and transparency guide every decision we make and every program we deliver.

Commitment

We are committed to full financial transparency, ethical stewardship of donor funds, and accountability to the veterans we serve.

Our Story

From Warrior to Wellness

Warrior Wellness began in 2013 inside Trinity Yoga Studio, the same place that helped our co-founder Janelle Norton, an Air Force combat camera photojournalist, through her own struggles. Her simple vision grew into a community effort, powered by volunteers and local businesses. With space generously provided by American Legion Post 173 in Holiday, they spent months turning it into a safe, welcoming place for healing, and opened their doors to local veterans in need.

The changes were almost immediate. The early program combined Accelerated Resolution Therapy, yoga, iRest guided meditation, mixed martial arts, and the camaraderie of people who understand each other. As demand grew, supporters from across the country helped fund a structured program model in 2015.

Today, the program continues under Executive Director Chris Sowell, one of its earliest success stories, and the team he has built. It now serves past and present military and their families, at no cost to participants from all over the US.
